Welcome to Henrik's newsletter!
Why a newsletter?
The idea started forming in the joy, inspiration, learning, and meaningfulness that I find in my weekly coaching of three young CEOs and founders.
I meet with each of them for about an hour every Friday. They tell me about their problems and I try to offer some guidance. And it works. I really enjoy the talks, and I learn a lot. They walk away with, if not a solved problem (that will be up to them), so at least some things to try, and more energy, focus and hope.
And that’s really all the things a founder needs that someone else can actually give them. Energy, focus, hope, and some things to try.
This is what I want to give to as many readers as possible.
Why am I charging for it?
If I truly want to give this to as many readers as possible, then why am I setting up a barrier by charging a subscription fee?
I do this because I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. I don’t want to waste your time, and I don’t want to waste my own time. As founders and CEOs, time is one of our most precious resources. We all have the same amount each day, and we can’t buy more.
If you don’t think it’s worth the subscription fee - then you definitely shouldn’t waste your time reading this newsletter. And if my content isn’t worth $9 a month, then I definitely shouldn’t waste my time writing it.
Having said that, here is some totally free advice: You should apply this thinking to your product. Monetize it right away.
Who am I writing for?
My explicit aim is to scale my coaching. In order to do that I have started where I think everyone should start - by talking to my users. Why do they find it valuable? What do I have to offer?
This resulted in one of them, Alec Levin - CEO of Learners, kindly offering to write a preface to the newsletter, sharing his perspective on it all.
Preface by Alec Levin
Anytime you are working on something ambitious, as any startup founder is, you face no shortage of problems. Many are easy to work through and solve, many… are very much not.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have Henrik as a coach to help me work through the problems I face every day as the CEO of Learners. Henrik is uniquely well positioned to provide advice to startup founders like you and me. Let me tell you why.
If you’re building a startup, you live in chaos. As soon as you reach one difficult milestone, there is an even more difficult milestone up next. We live in chaos, but we desire stability. Our teammates desire stability, our customers desire stability, and families most definitely desire stability.
Most of the relevant advice you’ll get at any stage of your journey - either directly from mentors or through blogs and videos will come from people (often founders) a few steps ahead of you. Unfortunately, in the startup game those folks will likely still be living in chaos. It’s only natural.
Here is where Henrik is different. He provides advice and support from the point of view of a CEO who’s successfully transitioned a company from chaotic startup to stable, healthy, and growing business.
I bet you’re like me, and aiming to build the next world-changing startup with millions of users around the world, and that’s great! Dream big. But make sure you’re working towards a stable and successful future by knowing what a stable and successful future looks like.
That’s what Henrik can show you. So I’d like to invite you to join me in subscribing to his newsletter for founders. I may not be the first to have benefited from Henrik’s advice, but I know I won’t be the last.
